The light at the end of the lockdown tunnel is near. We are very much looking forward to being in-the-room again soon!
While there’s still some uncertainty around resuming of gatherings, we do have some tentative plans.
Our hope is to return to Sundays at the Factory on 31 October.
The NSW Government roadmap has provided an exemption for places of public worship which allows the unvaccinated to gather for church at 80%. We are in conversations with the Factory Theatre about whether they will allow us to make use of this exemption. In the event that Factory does not allow us to gather together as a whole church body, we’ll be exploring ways to creatively include all who’d like to attend.
We are committed to providing safe and inclusive gathering spaces, and our staff are working hard to ensure we are compliant with the new measures around CovidSafe Plans.
On Sunday 24 October we will have a special Church Online service (hopefully our last) to prepare us for being in the room again. In this service I will be casting vision for the type of community God is calling us to be in the season ahead. Please don’t miss this Sunday.
There is still much that is unclear and uncertain. Please pray for wisdom for your leaders are we navigate the often complex decisions we’re facing.
If anyone has concerns around gatherings please reach out matt@anchorchurch.com.au. I am committed to listening deeply to our church. As we make decisions in the coming days, I’d really value the voices of our community. When details become clearer, I will update you with further information about how we can gather again safely.
For now…. the countdown in on! See you all in 24 days (hopefully!).
For his glory
