What is a Gospel Community?
Gospel Communities are the heartbeat of Anchor Church, and we believe they are vital for us to reach our city with the gospel.
As we nurture authentic community and disciple everyday missionaries, we believe that God will work through us to bring the wayward home.
Every week, we gather in homes across Sydney to enjoy a meal, share stories, and build a family.
We laugh, cry, and pray with one another, and learn to love and live like Jesus as we apply the Bible to everyday life.
Gospel Communities are an expression of our identity in Christ. Each group is unique, but we all share a common DNA.
1. Discipleship
We are apprentices of Jesus. We are learning to love and live like Jesus. We walk with people wherever they’re at on their journey of faith and lead them to Jesus to find life in him.
Every Gospel Community is committed to: Spiritual Formation through Prayer, Studying Scripture, Worship, Repentance and Faith
2. Community
We are family. God the Father has adopted us into his family as his beloved children. We share a new life of love together united in Christ as spiritual brothers and sisters.
Every Gospel Community is committed to: Eating Together, Sharing Vulnerably, Loving One Another
3. Mission
We are sent. Jesus sends his disciples into the world empowered by his Spirit to do whatever it takes to bring the wayward home, sharing his love for all people in word and deed.

4. Leadership Development
God has given us all unique gifts and opportunities to lead. He calls us to live like Jesus as humble servant-leaders, stewarding our gifts not for our own advancement, but for the good of our world.

We currently have 17 Gospel Communities scattered across Sydney: from Wattle Grove to the Northern Beaches, from Panania to Coogee. We would love to welcome you into our family.
