“We first came to Anchor for the Christmas Eve service 2014. Instantly, I (Nat) was attracted to Anchor because I felt like I could worship God in a way that was really freeing, and I felt like I could be raw and real, and have more of that Father-daughter relationship with God, and be part of and serve in a community.
“The first time we came for that Christmas Eve service, I (Danny) remember walking in and this big friendly face came up to me, arm out: ‘Hi, I’m Mike Roberts!’ That was my first impression of the church, it was very welcoming. And every week Mike Roberts was there, with a big smile, and he remembered my name. It was very much the welcoming spirit of the church—we felt like a family very quickly. We’ve loved being part of Gospel Communities, a family within a much bigger family.
“Also, the missional focus really attracted me. A lot of churches I’d been in previously were very inward-focused. But what I noticed about Anchor was it was very missional-focused. I love meeting new people and connecting people together. I love using that skill now to connect people to Jesus!”
